RBI rules: read the RBI guidelines on loan settlement and recovery
  • Already in force: lenders and recovery agents must not call you for overdue loans before 8 AM or after 7 PM
  • Credit report correction not done within 30 days of your complaint? You get ₹100 for each day of delay
  • Recovery agents must not threaten, humiliate or harass you, your relatives, friends or co-workers
  • From 1 Jan 2027, banks must also tell you the recovery agency’s details at least one day before its first visit
  • From 1 Jan 2027, banks must list their recovery agencies on their website
  • Lenders agree settlements under their own Board-approved policy; it is not an automatic right
  • After a compromise settlement, lenders wait at least 12 months before lending to you again (non-farm loans)
  • No reply from your bank in 30 days, or unhappy with it? You can complain to the RBI Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in
7-Stage Client Resolution Roadmap

How Debt Support Expert Works

Our 7-Stage Client Resolution Roadmap: what happens after you register with us, stage by stage. Times are typical, not promised. Your lender controls much of the timing, and the lender makes the final decision on any settlement.

1
Stage 1

Registration & Onboarding

Call or WhatsApp 7979789458, or fill the short form. You select the service plan that suits you and share your initial loan information and history: which loans or cards you have, how much you owe, how many EMIs you have missed, and whether you have received any notice.

  • We aim to respond within 1 business day (Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM IST)
  • Fee stage: we explain our fees in writing before you decide. See plans & pricing.
  • You can ask questions and take time to think. You can stop here.
2
Stage 2

Financial Assessment

A comprehensive review of your obligations, accounts and repayment capacity: your income, essential costs and total dues. We explain options that may suit you: a lower EMI or longer tenure, a short payment plan, a restructuring if the lender offers one, or a one-time loan settlement. We also tell you the risks. Interest may keep adding up, and a settled loan usually shows as "settled" on your credit report.

  • Typical time: 1 to 3 working days, depending on how quickly you share details
3
Stage 3

Strategy & Documentation

We form a case-specific settlement approach and help you prepare an honest hardship representation. Collect your papers: loan or card statements, notices, proof of hardship (job loss letter, medical bills, business loss records) and income proof.

  • We check that the letter is honest and complete
  • Typical time: about 1 week, depending on documents
4
Stage 4

Lender Communication

We coordinate discussions and formal written communication with your banks or NBFCs. If you are getting recovery calls that break RBI rules, we explain how to complain to the lender's grievance officer and, if needed, the RBI Ombudsman.

  • What you do: reply to the lender on time, keep every message, and tell us about any call or letter
  • Typical time: a few weeks to a few months. Some lenders take longer. Some never agree.
5
Stage 5

Settlement Offer Review

The lender decides whether to make an offer. If it does, we help you understand the official written offer and its conditions, line by line. It is your decision to accept or not.

  • Is it on the lender's letterhead or official email?
  • Does it say the exact amount and last date?
  • Does it say the account will be closed or settled after payment?
6
Stage 6

Payment & Closure Documentation

We guide you on official payment channels. Pay only after the offer is in writing, and only into the lender's official account. Never to us or to an agent's personal account. We help you verify the official settlement receipt and closure or no-dues letter.

  • Keep the settlement letter and receipts safely
  • See our settlement letter checklist in the guides
7
Stage 7

Credit Guidance

Based on your chosen plan, we provide credit assessment, credit-report dispute support or rebuilding advisory. Check your credit report after a few weeks to see that the account is updated. If the details are wrong, you can raise a dispute with the credit bureau. Settling does not improve your score. It only stops the account from remaining unpaid.

  • Credit scores are decided by credit bureaus and lenders. We provide guidance and dispute support.

How we look at your case

A job loss, a medical emergency or a business loss each creates a different kind of stress, so we look at each case on its own. Ek hi solution sab par fit nahi hota.

Financial assessment

Before any lender is contacted, we go through your numbers:

  • Total dues on every loan and card.
  • How interest, late fees and penalties have added up.
  • What you can really pay after essential expenses.

SMA and NPA in simple words

  • SMA (Special Mention Account): an early warning label. A payment is overdue, but the loan is not yet treated as bad.
  • NPA (Non-Performing Asset): under RBI norms, a loan is generally non-performing when payment is overdue for more than 90 days. The lender usually moves it to recovery.
  • These labels affect how the lender handles your case. They do not decide a settlement. Each lender follows its own policy.

Hardship documentation

We help you organise statements, notices, income proof and proof of hardship, and write an honest hardship letter. We never create or alter documents.

What you receive along the way

  • A written summary of your loans and what you can pay.
  • A document checklist and a draft hardship letter for you to review.
  • A review of any written offer with you before you decide.
  • A closure-paper check after you pay the lender.

The stages are a framework, not a promise of timing or outcome. Your lender decides, and you decide whether to accept any offer.

What we never do

  • We never collect settlement money.
  • We never promise a result or an amount.
  • We never ask for your OTP, PIN or passwords.

Frequently asked questions

What happens after I register?

We take your loan details, explain the options that can fit your situation, and only then prepare papers or write to the lender. You can ask questions and stop after the first conversation.

Do I pay the settlement amount to Debt Support Expert?

No. Settlement money always goes to your lender's official account, never to us. Our fee, explained in writing before you proceed, pays for our work.

How long does each stage take?

Times on this page are typical, not promised. Your papers, the lender's response time and whether the lender agrees all affect the calendar.

What do you actually do for me?

We assess your accounts, help you prepare an honest hardship letter, coordinate written communication with the lender, review any official offer with you, and guide payment and closure papers. Our legal desk will send a formal reply to illegal recovery threats and we will file your harassment complaint with the bank and RBI when that is needed.
